Beirut - Arabstoday
Lebanese composer Sameer Safir said that the most recent US concert tour by Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram is considered the most successful held by an Arab artist and she broke the record for most fans in attendance for a performance. Sameer also said that he considers Lebanese singer Ayman Zbib to be more important than singer Fares Karam, but Ayman has not yet reached the stardom of prominent Lebanese singer Assi Helani. According to the internet website MBC.net, Sameer said that he arranged for Ayman and Nancy to hold a concert together during Nancy’s US tour. The tour held by Nancy was very successful and concert halls were packed with Arab fans and people of all nationalities. Sameer stated that Nancy broke the record for most tickets sold during a US tour, defeating records held by prominent Lebanese singers Najwa Karam and Wadi Al Safi. During her US tour, a rumor began circulating that the scheduled concert by Nancy and Ayman was cancelled in an attempt to make it a failure, a matter that disappointed Sameer, who organized the tour. Sameer was disappointed that Nancy’s competitors would go to such means to attempt to make her fail.
