Ezra Miller could star in J.K. Rowling's screenwriting debut of 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them if rumored talks are successful.
According to Variety, sources say that Miller, already confirmed to play the Flash for the DC universe, is in early talks to appear as Kredan in the Harry Potter spin-off starring Eddie Redmayn and Katherine Waterston.
Warner Bros. has not released any comments concerning the talks, and not much is known about how early in the process they are. However, sources tell the outlet that Miller has long been a favorite of those casting for the upcoming film and was named their top choice for Kredan's role.
When Fantastic Beasts was announced in September, author-turned-screenwriter J.K. Rowling pitched the idea that it should be set in New York. She said in a statement at the time that the film is "neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world."
"The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry's gets underway," she continued.
The character which Miller is rumored to portray is a magical person who meets textbook author Newt Scamander (Redmayn) while traveling through New York.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set for release in November 2016.
