Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan is set to pay an official visit to Iran on Tuesday upon an official invitation by his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, Press TV reported.
During his visit to Tehran, which will be the first presidential visit to Iran from Turkey in the last four years, Erdogan is to exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest with Rouhani, said a joint statement issued by Tehran and Ankara on Saturday.
The Turkish president is also scheduled to meet Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the statement added.
Erdogan, who will be heading a high-ranking delegation, comprising a number of Turkish ministers, is slated to participate in the second joint meeting of the Iran-Turkey High Council of Strategic Cooperation, the statement noted.
The first meeting of the council was held during Rouhani’s visit to Ankara in June 9, 2014.
