Cairo - Arab Today
The Cairo Criminal court on Saturday, under counselor Hassan Farid, delayed to January 14 the trial of 67 defendants of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group on charges of assassinating prosecutor general Hisham Barakat.
The postponement aimed at resuming hearing the testimonies of the witnesses and to summon a witness.
Some 51 are detained pending investigation in the case while 16 are still at large.
Hisham Barakat died in hospital after a bomb attack on his car in the Cairo suburb of Heliopolis in June 2015.
Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq had referred the defendants to the criminal court to stand trial over the assassination of Barakat.
