Cairo - Arab Today
The ministries of awqaf, youth, sports and culture have announced they will start preparations for an expanded, open societal dialogue next week which will bring together all society brackets, especially youth to adopt a national working paper about a national strategy to renew religious discourse, boost religious values and re-build the Egyptian personality.
The move is in implementation of President Abdel-Fattah el Sisi's directives during the National Youth Conference and the prime minister's instructions in coordination with Al Azhar, the church and parties concerned.
The remark was made by Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa following a meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz and Culture Minister Helmy Namnam on Monday.
Gomaa said in statements following the meeting that an agreement was reached to hold a meeting of the coordination committee for arranging the societal dialogue next week and representatives from Al Azhar and the church will be chosen.
He added an executive committee grouping the dialogue's representatives will be chosen in three months to kick-start the dialogue sessions.
The gathering will offer an opportunity for youth to present their viewpoints regarding different issues, according to Gomaa.
