British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond

Visiting British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond is to confer with Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on issues of mutual interest on Monday.

Hammond heading a politico-economic delegation arrived in Tehran on Sunday to attend ceremonies marking the reopening of UK embassy in Tehran and confer with a number of senior Iranian officials in issues of mutual interests, IRNA reported.

The British foreign secretary is to confer with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani on regional developments.

Hammond is also scheduled to meet with Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and CBI Governor Volilollah Seif.

UK embassy was reopened on Sunday after about four years of closure simultaneous with the reopening of Iran's embassy in London.
