Egypt has been chosen to host the Global Symposium for Regulators of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 2016.

The move comes in recognition of the Arab country's position as a model in the field of communications in the region.

Egypt's National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) took part in this year's meeting of the symposium, which was held in Libreville, Gabon from June 9-11.
