Palestinian deputy prime minister Ziyad Abu Amr arrived in Gaza on Thursday from the West Bank on a surprise visit.

Palestinian sources said Amr arrived from the Israeli-controlled Beit Hanon crossing accompanied by a number of his advisers.

He will chair the joint committee meeting between the coalition government and Hamas movement to resolve divisive issues on the Palestinian employee file.
