Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed over the phone the latest developments in Yemen.

They expressed concern over the current situation there and the ongoing humanitarian crisis, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on its website.

They called for stepping up efforts to find a political solution to the conflict.
