Japanese Prime Minister to carry out Cabinet reshuffle Wednesday

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told ministers Friday he will conduct a Cabinet reshuffle next Wednesday, Kyodo News quoted the Japanese government's top spokesman as saying.

Most key Cabinet members, including Finance Minister Taro Aso, are expected to keep their posts in the reshuffle, which follows the ruling bloc's victory in the House of Councillors election on July 10.

Addressing a press conference, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga quoted Abe as saying he wishes to "strongly implement policies to respond to the mandate given by the people in the upper house election."
