Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ashraf el Shihi is scheduled Monday to inaugurate the international scientific conference of the board of the federation of the civilizations of the ancient Near East.
Egyptian, Arab, and foreign professors will take part in the two-day conference that will be hosted at the ministry's headquarters in Cairo.
In statements, the minister said the conference is an opportunity to boost communication between scientists and researchers in universities and institutions based on civilizations of the ancient Near East regions, and activate dialogue among them to discuss cultural ties, similarities and diversity of these cultural groups through modern studies.
He added that the federation of civilizations of the ancient Near East gathers professors from Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey, Iraq and Iran, in addition to specialized scientists from Europe, US, and Australia.
