French President Francois Hollande will meet his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday on the fringe of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Elysee Palace announced.
The two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations, regional and international issues of common interest topped by the Middle East peace process and terrorism combat.
Hollande will be accompanied by a ministerial delegation including Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and Minister of Environment and Energy Ségolène Royal.
Meanwhile, the French president will hold a series of meetings on Tuesday with Riyad Hijab, the General Coordinator of the High Negotiations Committee representing the Syrian opposition, Lebanese Prime Minister Tamam Sallam, Nigerian President Mohammad Buhari, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Saudi Crown Prince and Deputy Premier Prince Mohammad bin Nayef bin Abdel Aziz, Iraqi Prime Minister Haydar Abadi and other leaders.
On Monday, the French president is to be honored as the International Statesman of the Year by a New York-based interfaith foundation.
