Cairo - Arab Today
Egypt's bourse will host on Wednesday the annual conference of the Federation of European and Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS).
The two-day conference, comprising more than 25 heads of European, Asian and Arab stock exchanges, will be held in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el Sheikh.
Holding the FEAS annual meetings in Egypt is an assertion that Egypt's Stock Exchange is restoring its regional status as a pioneering market, said Egyptian Stock Exchange Chairman Mohamed Omran.
The meetings of the FEAS board of directors and general secretariat will take up means of restructuring the federation in order to overcome difficulties it has faced over the past years, he added in statements on Tuesday.
The agenda of the meetings, Omran noted, will also include ways of restoring the role of the FEAS in backing stock exchanges of its member states in addition to adopting strategies that would increase investments at the federation.
Egypt's Stock Exchange has presided over the FEAS since 2014, when it was elected to chair the federation after the Istanbul Stock Exchange dominated the presidency of the federation for almost 20 years.
