High Dam in Aswan

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab visited on Tuesday the Nile Museum in Aswan.

The museum exhibits models for irrigation facilities in Egypt and the other Nile Basin countries.

The museum was set up at a cost of 130 million pounds and was open on September 16, 2014.

Afterwards, Mahlab and his accompanying ministers headed for the High Dam, where they watched a presentation on measures taken to secure the dam and Aswan Reservoir.

The High Dam security system was established in 2003 at a total cost of 6.250 million pounds, and was upgraded in 2015 at a cost of EGP 3.650 million.

Also, 70 surveillance cameras were installed on the High Dam to secure it, besides six mobile cameras four thermal ones and 17 monitors.

The system includes detectors on exits and entrances of the dam to check for explosives and it cost 21 million pounds.
