Cairo - Arab Today
The Cairo Criminal Court postponed to May 23 its decision regarding a request to freeze the assets of director of the Arab Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) Gamal Eid, his wife and daughter along with activist Hossam Baghat, pending investigations into charges that they received 1.5 million dollars in foreign funding for their nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
The case dates back to December 2011, when 43 workers for foreign NGOs were charged with operating an organization and receiving funds from a foreign government without a license.
