President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday received a message from his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun on boosting bilateral relations.
Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Gebran Bassil delivered the message during his meeting with Sisi in Cairo, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Aoun affirmed his keenness on boosting distinguished relations linking Egypt and Lebanon at all levels.
He also expressed his hope to meet the invitation extended by President Sisi to visit Egypt at the earliest suitable opportunity to continue coordination and consultation about various challenges facing the Arab world at the present time.
The presidential spokesman said Sisi-Bassil talks dealt with the latest political developments in Lebanon after the formation of the government of Prime Minister Saad Hariri that would help in bringing political stability to Lebanon and completing the institutional structure of the Lebanese state.
For his part, Sisi welcomed the formation of the Hariri Cabinet, and hailed the Lebanese people's ability to achieve a national consensus under a complicated regional situation.
He affirmed that Egypt will continue to support the Lebanese people and their efforts to maintain coexistence and integration of the various components and to solve their problems without any external interference.
The meeting also dealt with ways to upgrade Egyptian-Lebanese relations in the coming period, as well as other regional issues of common concern.
