 Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Thursday, met with Speaker of Algeria's Council of the Nation, Abdelkader Bensalah.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed is on a state visit to Algeria at an invitation from President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The meeting tackled avenues of joint cooperation and various means to realise the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples. The two sides recognised the need for diversifying and developing constructive partnerships that serve the developmental, economic and investment sectors.
The meeting, which was attended by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, discussed a host of issues of concern between the two countries, particularly in the economic and trade sectors, and available opportunities for significant joint cooperation and investment.
The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments of common concern.
The Crown Prince hailed the U.A.E. - Algeria ties as 'rock solid' thanks to the mutual desire of the respective leaderships to take them to new heights.
He said the U.A.E., led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to build distinguished and stronger ties with Algeria to serve mutual interests.
On his part, the Algerian Speaker said his country was proud of its distinct ties with the U.A.E. in all domains including political, economic and trade, while emphasising Algeria's keenness to continue consultations and coordination with the U.A.E. in matters that promote the interests of the two countries.
The Algerian official hosted a lunch banquet in honour of Sheikh Mohamed and his accompanying delegation, which was attended by senior Algerian officials.
