Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir has described King Salman's first visit to Russia as historic to improving bilateral relations, saying the king will discuss in Russia a number of important documents and bilateral agreements.
During a meeting with speaker of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko Wednesday, Jubeir noted that King Salman has issued directives to develop relations with Moscow in different fields, Russia Today channel reported.
Jubeir said he believes that after the visit, relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia will move from good to excellent.
Matvienko lauded Jubeir's cooperation with Moscow, especially with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Matvienko underlined that Jubeir's cooperation helped in settling regional crises and in bringing stability to the Middle East.
She expressed hope that such visit would be successful and fruitful to give momentum to enhance bilateral relations in different spheres.
Developing cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia would not just serve mutual interests only but it is expected to shape a serious factor for achieving stability in the region as Saudi Arabia is one of the most effective countries in the Middle East and the world.
