French presidential envoy Jean Louis-Borloo, who also the head of the Energy for Africa Foundation, said on Sunday France has floated a proposal for an agency for energy in Africa.
He made his comments during his meeting with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab.
Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy attended the meeting.
Louis-Borloo said his country is keen on carrying out projects for generating electricity in African nations.
Mahlab welcomed the proposal, tasking the ministers of environment and electricity with studying it.
