The opening session of the second meeting of Arab chiefs of staff started in Cairo on Saturday, said the army spokesman.
Egypt's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi delivered a speech to the meeting, in which he expressed condolences to the Saudi leadership and people over Friday's terrorist attack, Col. Mohamed Samir added.
The participants observed a one-minute silence for victims of the attack, the spokesman noted.
The meeting took up the formation of a joint Arab military force to confront threats to Arab national security.
The meetings, chaired by Hegazi, is planned to wrap up on Sunday.
