Jordanian King Abdullah II on Monday met a delegation of US senators, led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The meeting reviewed ways to strengthen Jordan-US relations in various fields, and the latest regional and international developments.
It also tackled the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly endeavors to combat the threat of terrorism and terrorist organizations, and efforts to achieve peace in the region, according to the official Petra news agency.
With regard to efforts to achieve peace between Palestinians and Israelis, the King stressed the need to revive the negotiations between the two sides, leading to a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
He emphasized Jordan's supportive stance to find a comprehensive political solution to the Syrian crisis, and the need to establish security and stability in Iraq, Yemen and Libya.
