Amman - MENA
Jordanian Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh met on Wednesday with United Nations Special Coordinator for Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov.
They called for relaunching negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians with the aim of establishing a sovereign Palestinian state on the territories occupied since 4 June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Judeh said the Palestinian issue will remain the central issue in the Middle East despite the current developments in the region.
Mladenov, for his part, praised a role played by King Abdullah II of Jordan in order to bring about peace in the Middle East.
