Investment and International Cooperation Minister Dr. Sahar Nasr held on Thursday a meeting with visiting German parliament member Alexander Radwan and a delegation of the German Embassy in Cairo.
The meeting tackled means of boosting economic and technical cooperation between Egypt and Germany.
The two officials talked about the outcome of the recent visit paid by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Egypt and efforts exerted by Cairo to achieve economic and social reforms.
The Egyptian government is keen on overcoming obstacles facing German investors in Egypt, Nasr noted.
The minister praised strong partnership between Cairo and Berlin, citing the 500-million-dollar agreements signed by the German side to support the Egyptian economy.
Germany is currently occupying the 20th position on the list of countries investing in Egypt, she said, expressing hope that Germany's ranking would go up in the coming period.
Economic cooperation between Egypt and Germany includes vocational training and honing skills of Egyptian workers, she noted.
Radwan, for his part, stressed his country's keenness on increasing investments in Egypt in the coming period.
He hailed also recent economic measures taken by the Egyptian government, expressing Berlin's support for development initiatives in Egypt.
Radwan voiced desire to get acquainted with investment opportunities provided for the German private sector in Egypt.
