Cairo - Arab Today
International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr met Wednesday with mission director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Cairo Sherry Carlin for further talks on means to upgrade an economic partnership program to better meet the needs of the Egyptian people and priorities of the Egyptian government.
Nasr said she is keen on maintaining cooperation between her Ministry and the USAID for optimal use of the USAID allocations for Egypt.
Nasr and Carlin also discussed future projects that should be funded by the US in the fields of health, basic education, higher education, agriculture, trade, industry and infrastructure.
Implemented projects should serve the basic needs of citizens, particularly the most-in-need segments, Nasr said.
The two sides stressed strategic ties between Cairo and Washington and their keenness on boosting development relations for the best interests of their countries.
