The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri received today at the Grand Serail the Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Major General Michael Beary and discussed with him the situation in the south and the mission of the UNIFIL in Lebanon.

Hariri also met with the Australian Ambassador to Lebanon Glenn Miles. Discussions focused on the situation and the developments in Lebanon and the region.

Earlier, he received a delegation from the Lebanese Economic Forum, headed by Rafic Zantout, who said after the meeting: "We shared with Prime Minister Hariri our fears that the tax hikes would affect the economic situation and inflation. We demanded that the relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Economy, start monitoring the prices seriously to prevent any increase in the prices of goods because this would affect all sectors and will have a direct effect on the private sector employees, who did not benefit from the salaries increase."
He added: "We agreed with Premier Hariri on holding a large economic meeting at the Grand Serail, with a dialogue with economists, to listen to the economic program of Prime Minister Hariri.

Hariri also met with a delegation from Formula E, headed by its CEO Alejandro Agag, who said after the meeting: "We discussed today with Prime Minister Hariri the possibility of staging a race for the championship of Formula E in the city of Beirut. Formula E races in cities all over the world from New York to Paris to Hong Kong and other big capitals in the world and Beirut would be in my opinion a great venue for this championship. It is a very beautiful city and a big capital and we would love to make this possible. So at the moment we are exploring and working on the possibility and hopefully we will be able in the future to have a race here in Beirut
