French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves le Drian on Friday stressed his country’s support for Egypt's ongoing economic reforms, French Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Agnes Romatet-Espagne said.
Earlier in the day, Le Drian met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry
The two sides lauded the progress in the bilateral relations during the past five years and expressed desire to deepen cooperation in all fields, Romatet-Espagne told MENA following the meeting.
Le Drian and Shoukry also discussed preparations for expected high-profile mutual visits as well as the major regional issues, topped by the Libyan crisis, she added.
The top French diplomat appreciated an Egyptian-led initiative to support inter-Palestinian reconciliation, praising its initial outcome, she added.
On Syria, Le Drian reviewed French efforts to reach a political solution to the conflict, she pointed out.
