Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri held a session of talks on Thursday with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian on launching a new phase in Egyptian-French ties after French President Emmanuel Macron came to office.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Libya and efforts to fight terrorism in the country, particularly in light of the spread of terrorist organizations in Libya and their negative impact on peace and stability in Libya's neighboring and Mediterranean countries.
