A key two-day meeting will open tomorrow, Monday, in Egypt to draft a plan to combat the scourge of terrorism in the Arab region. Senior officials represents Arab ministries of social affairs, justice and youth will attend the session at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo. Egyptian Minister of Social Solidary, Head of Executive Bureau of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers’ Council, Dr. Ghada Wali, will chair the meeting.
The Arab Summit which was held in Amman, Jordan, endorsed the Arab Counter-terrorism Declaration, which was issued the by Arab Social Affairs Ministers’ Council last February at Sharm Al-Sheikh under the theme "Terrorism and Social Development". Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs Badreddine Alali said that the meeting would elaborate a plan to combat the scourge of terrorism as per the blueprint endorsed by the Arab Summit in Amman.
A committee chaired by host country, Egypt, has been set up to scrutinize the social dimension for combating terrorism. Arab League Political and Social Development director Tariq Nabil Al-Nabulsi said a presentation would be stage on supporting the Arab efforts to root out terrorism
