Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit met on Monday with Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of the meetings of the 72nd round of the UNGA in New York.
The meeting took up aspects of cooperation between the Arab League and India during the current stage in the political, economic and cultural fields, according to a statement by the AL.
The meeting also tackled the Arab-Indian dialogue forum which will be held in New Delhi in 2018.
Abul Gheit asserted the Arab world is looking forward to strong Indian support to the Arab issues topped by the Palestinian cause.
Abul Gheit expects clear Indian support to a two-state solution in Palestine.
Meanwhile, Swaraj said that the Indian stance towards the Palestinian cause did not change.
