Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal received on Tuesday Kodela Siva, the Speaker of India's Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
A statement issued by the Indian embassy in Cairo said talks dealt with historical relations between the two countries including economic dimensions at the level of trade exchange which amounts to four billion dollars and joint investments.
The Egyptian Speaker asserted Cairo's interest in benefiting from India's advanced experience in the field of information technology, expressing keenness of the Egyptian parliament on forming a parliamentary friendship association with the Indian parliament.
For his part, the Indian Speaker offered condolences to Egypt's people over the death of scores in the terrorist attack which rocked the Boutroseya church in the Cairo district of Abbasiya nearly 10 days ago.
He pointed out that the Indian prime minister intends to visit Egypt in the coming period and also welcomed Egypt's interest in boosting ties especially in the information technology domain.
