Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met in Ramallah on Wednesday with EU's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.
Emerging from the meeting, Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat described the talks as fruitful, pointing out they tackled the latest regional developments.
He said the Palestinian side appreciated EU's decision to condemn Israeli settlement policies in the occupied territories and boycott Israeli products from the occupied lands.
Israel must suspend settlement activities, release detainees and accept a two-state solution, said Erekat.
For her part, the EU official said the European side is committed to efforts of resuming peace talks between the Palestinian side and Israel in cooperation with the United States, Russia and the United Nations.
