Activities of the Syrian Cultural Week opened in Baghdad as part of Baghdad, Arab Capital of Culture 2013 festivities. In a speech during the opening, Minister of Culture Dr. Lubanah Mshaweh, said we came to Baghdad carrying types of our cultural heritage that enriched the world over the past years and still has a lot to build minds, elevate souls and upgrade morals to produce the ideal nation. In turn, Adviser to the Iraqi Minister of Culture Hamed al-Rawi saluted Syria\'s people and history. Dr. Mshaweh also opened a series of exhibitions on tourist and archaeological sites in Syria, Arab book, plastic arts and Arab calligraphy in addition to handicrafts and traditional crafts. Jollanar troupe for arts presented a show entitled \" The castle stones talking\" which won the admiration of the public. The Syrian Cultural Week activities include movie shows, poetry forums, lectures and musical performances Earlier, Minister Mshaweh arrived in Baghdad on Sunday heading a Syrian cultural and artistic delegation for opening the Syrian Cultural Week. In a statement to SANA reporter in Baghdad, the Minister said that the universal war targeting both Syrian and Iraqi peoples would be a motive to survive and adhere to our culture and cultural presence.
