Israel confiscated parts of the historic Islamic cemetery adjacent to the eastern wall of Al Aqsa Mosque.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces brought heavy drilling equipment in the site.

Israeli forces prevented Jerusalemites from burial in parts of the Islamic cemetery in which a number of Prophet Muhammad companions and scores of Islamic scholars were buried.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces continued issuing demolition notices against Palestinian houses allegedly built without licences.
