The Kuwait\'s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Secretary General Ali Al-Yoha inaugurated Monday evening the international contemporary art conference, organized by the Kuwait Arts Association during the period of 28-31 October. \"This event provides a platform for Arab and non-Arab artists to better interact and exchange experience and to hold constructive discussions and debates on the role of culture and arts in the development of societies,\" Al-Yoha told KUNA on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony. He expressed hope the conferees would end up with clear recommendations for enhancing the role of culture and arts in the national development, especially in Arab countries. Successive Kuwaiti governments had paid due attention and offered all support to cultural people to promote cultural prominence out of deep belief of this important role of cultural in the life of nations, Al-Yoha added. For his part, Abdulrasool Salman, Head of the event organizer, the Kuwaiti Arts Association, hoped the conference would help Arab artist find new approaches and tools to improve their products.
