Over 100 experts, businesses and manufacturers from Asia-Pacific countries including South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Canada took part in a workshop on recharged energy and promoting infrastructure for compressed natural gas (CNG) sector in Vietnam on Wednesday. Co-held by the Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association ( ANGVA), Singapore\'s AEG Power Solution Company and Vietnam\'s TTC Communication Company, the workshop aims at promoting the use of CNG and Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) in Vietnam and sharing experience and information among regional countries During the workshop, which was held in Vietnam\'s southern Ho Chi Minh City, some 1,130 km south of capital Hanoi, participants shared a view that Vietnam is emerging as a potential market for CNG and NGV through the use of natural energy resources in areas of industries and transportation. In Ho Chi Minh City, there are now two CNG refinery stations and nearly 100 CNG-used buses are operating in the city. Lee Giok Seng, executive director of ANGVA said that the workshop is of great significance in promoting CNG and NGV-used in industries and transportation in order to save costs and protect environment. In the context of industrial development and growing urbanization rate, CNG and NGV are essential to reduce emissions, said Lee.
