Crude oil prices rose to more than $93 per barrel in New York Tuesday with President Obama meeting with lawmakers about sanctions against Iran. Obama met with lawmakers to argue against increasing sanctions against Iran, a sign talks with Iran could culminate in the country's return to the market as a significant exporter. Some analysts predict Iran will have access to global markets in the first half of 2014. Trading was choppy Tuesday with the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development lowering their predictions for economic growth next year. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate, light, sweet crude added 18 cents to $93.21 per barrel. Reformulated gasoline shed 1.48 cents to reach $2.642 a gallon. Home heating oil lost 1.06 cents to hit $2.9116 gallon. Natural gas dropped 5 cents to $3.57 per million British thermal units. At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline rose slightly, climbing to $3.209 per gallon from Monday's $3.208, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
