RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) recently celebrated its Qatarization strategy that has brought the total number of Qatari employees to over 34 per cent of the total work force. Beginning with just under 50 employees in 1993, RasGas today boasts a workforce of more than 3,500 of which over 1,000 are Qatari Nationals, the Company said in a press release today The press release added that RasGas, over the past two decades, has developed a structured system of recruitment, training, coaching and career development, with the aim of sourcing, attracting and retaining skilled and accomplished Qataris. “As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, Qatarization is an important strategic objective which is not merely about employing Qataris but hiring, training and retaining talent that will help RasGas grow. We have devised and implemented a quality-driven Qatarization programme as part of our conviction that people are our greatest strength, and the key to the Company’s future success and development,” said Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, RasGas Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “The success of our Qatarization strategy puts us on track to achieve our target of 50% Qatarization. The newly launched bilingual website is another of the many channels through which we continue to reach out to young Qataris and establish this company as the employer of choice,” Al Mohannadi added. The Qatarization website in Arabic and English provides an online source of information for those seeking scholarships, internships and different career development opportunities within RasGas. Earlier this year RasGas was awarded the Qatarization Crystal Award, for the third time since 2009, in recognition of its effectiveness in attracting and retaining the highest calibre of employees.
