Boosting oil products output, specially gasoline, and stepping up implementation of development plans at oil refineries are among the priorities of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) during the current Iranian year, the company\'s chief said.Speaking to Shana, NIORDC Managing Director Alireza Zeighami said the company plans to raise daily gasoline production to 70 million liters per day up to the end of current Iranian calendar year on 20 March 2014.\"NIOPDC would be able to produce this amount of gasoline by launching development plans at Lavan, Bandar Abbas, Isfahan and Tabriz oil refineries,\" the official said.Zeighami expressed satisfaction with the trend of the construction of the first phase of the Persian Gulf Star oil refinery, stating upon completion of the project average daily gasoline production of the country would soar to 100 million liters per day.The NIOPDC top executive expressed the hope that the construction of the first phase of the refinery would gain momentum by timely injection of financial resources.On current daily consumption of gasoline, the official said: during the first 15 days of new year, average daily gasoline consumption hit 78 million liters per day and reached the unprecedented level of 98 million liters per day on 31 March.Average daily gasoline production stood at 67.5 million liters during the first two week of the current year and the remainder daily consumption were met via withdrawal from gasoline stockpiles as well as production by petrochemical plants.He noted that average daily gasoline production reached 61.5 million liters last year and consumption stood at 63.5 million. Zeighami expressed hope gasoline consumption back to normal by ending new year holidays and reduction in out of town travels.
