Within his follow-up to implementation of the plan for speeding up the program of oil production in the country, the Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, reiterated his call on the new partners to speed up the work process in the new oil exploration blocks toward reaching the phase of production. This came when he received at office Monday the Deputy Chairman of the group of companies working in the blocks (11) and (9) in Gezira State, Dr. Mohamed Zayed. The meeting reviewed the plans and programs of the companies which are being implemented in the current year. Dr. Al-Jaz referred to the comparative advantages enjoyed by the concession area that was given to companies, pointing to the existence of near lines for transporting of crude oil. Meanwhile, Dr. Zayed said that his company has completed all the administrative and logistic arrangements to begin the exploration operations, affirming their determination to reach the stage of commercial production as soon as possible through utilization of the latest advanced technology in this regard. He revealed that the early exploration at these blocks reflected evidence on existence of big oil quantities, indicating that the companies, in addition to their search for oil, are absorbing significant number of Sudanese technical cadres.
