Kuwait’s crude oil exports to Japan rose 16.1% in June from a year earlier to 6.29 million barrels, or 210,000 barrels per day (bpd), for the fifth consecutive monthly gain, the government said Tuesday. Japan’s overall imports of crude oil in the reporting month increased 6.0% year-on-year to 96.84 million barrels (3.23 million bpd) for the fifth straight month of growth. Shipments from the Middle East stood at 2.72 million bpd and accounted for 84.2% of the total, down 1.9% from a year before.
