Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining And Distribution Company (NIORDC) Alireza Zeighami told the oil ministry\'s website, Shana, that construction of the first fully Iranian-made oil refinery had already started, thanks to the Iranian know-how and domestically made tools, systems and equipment. He said construction of such a refinery is crucial considering that the current year has been named by Iran\'s Supreme Leader as \"the Year of National Production and Supporting Iranian Labor and Capital\". \"This year is the continuation of the last year economic activities which was named the Year of Economic Jihad by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei so we will try to reduce our dependence on foreigners to the lowest level this year,\" the NIOPDC managing director noted. \"During the Supreme Leader\'s visit to NIOPDC\'s stand at the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) we promised attaining self sufficiency in production by relying on Iranian capabilities and know-how.\" He also said that NIOPDC would speed up construction operations at its ongoing projects, adding gasoline production at domestic oil refineries would rise to 68 million liters per day this year. Referring to the remarks made by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the advent of the new Iranian year on 20th March, who emphasized on strengthening national production, Zeighami noted that current year is actually the continuation of the past year which had been named the Year of Economic Jihad \"because we stressed on domestically manufacturing approach last year and national production theme is the pivot of oil industry development this year\". In choosing a name for this year, the Supreme Leader had emphasized on supporting all investors, holders of technology, know-how and economic and financial capabilities, the official remarked. Underlining the importance of human resources in promoting the oil industry, the official referred to the large number of experts present in Iran\'s oil industry, and said, \"Any advancement in the oil industry depends on human resources not tools and equipment and that is why we are asking oil industry workforce to concentrate on production and construction.\"
