Crude oil prices dropped under $92 per barrel Monday morning on the New York Mercantile Exchange. NYMEX light, sweet crude oil shed 76 cents to hit $91.96 per barrel, with traders taking new positions after a U.S. Labor Department report Friday said a disappointing 74,000 jobs were added to the economy in December. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices were down 0.21 cents to $2.6677 a gallon. Home heating oil added 0.23 cents to $2.943 a gallon. Natural gas added 16 cents to hit $4.21 per million British thermal units. The national average price of unleaded regular gasoline dropped to $3.12 per gallon, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
