British Gas has announced it aims to boost its investments in Tunisia despite already being a leading foreign investor in the North African country. The news was revealed as Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki met the company’s CEO for the Middle East and North Africa Chris Finlayson, who expressed trust in the Tunisian investment environment. “The short-term social difficulties will end when the country achieves its transition process,” the BG CEO said in a statement released by the Tunisian presidency. Operating in Tunisia for more than 15 years, British Gas is the key operator in the gas market in the country and provides more than 50 percent of the national demand, official news agency TAP reported.
