Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Yasser el Qady signed with the Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anany

Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Yasser el Qady signed with the Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anany Sunday a cooperation protocol to activate the use of information technology in preserving Egypt's antiquities and promoting for it abroad.

The protocol aims at raising awareness with archaeological sites, getting the Egyptian society as well as the world acquainted with the activities of the Antiquities Ministry, documenting information about the Egyptian artifacts using state-of-the-art information technology and highlighting the value of the Egyptian artifacts to increase financial resources needed for economic growth, according to a statement issued by the Telecommunications Ministry.

The protocol targets also upgrading the skills of the employees at the Antiquities Ministry in the field of information technology.

El Qady underlined that the protocol comes within the framework of implementing his ministry's strategy which stipulates creating a digital society in all domains.

For his part, el Anany underscored that the protocol is one of the most important agreements inked by the Antiquities Ministry recently with a number of ministries to guarantee achieving its goals.

He further reiterated that the protocol will help his ministry in documenting the Egyptian heritage using information technology and getting the people acquainted with services offered by the Antiquities Ministry.

The protocol stipulates establishing (Egypt Antiquities) website which offers many services, such as providing information about the archaeological sites, its visiting hours, the prices of the tickets and e-ticketing services.
