A first-of-its-kind infotainment system for the Middle East was launched in Riyadh yesterday. The Internet-connected touchscreen tablet PC, called ADDICTAB, gives users access to entertainment content such as music and sport videos as well as information on hotels, tourist attractions and news. Infologic Consultancy Services, which designs mobile solutions, is behind the system. The state-of-the-art tablets are connected to the Internet over the 3G network and allow passengers who land at airports to access their e-mails and browse the Web. G.N. Khan, chief executive officer of Infologic Consultancy Services, said: \"Users will also receive information about the city through navigation applications and advertisements of hotels, restaurants and others.\" He said content and applications on the device will be updated periodically over the Internet. Infologic\'s in-house technical development team will look after hardware and software development and future upgrades of the device, he noted. Khan said: \"We are delighted to be representing ADDICTAB in the Middle East and look forward to creating and grabbing a substantial share of the market in the region.\"
