A Kuwaiti researcher has been granted a fellowship from Kuwait-MIT Center for Natural Resources and the Environment in the US, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) announced. The 12-month fellowship to Dr. Sherine Al-Subaie allows Kuwaiti researchers to cooperate and participate with researchers from the prestigious MIT in advanced research projects to serve the country, KISR Director General Dr.Naji Al-Mutairi said in a statement on Saturday. Kuwait-MIT Center was established in Boston in 2005 by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) to enhance cooperation in scientific research between Kuwait\'s institutions and MIT in the fields of energy, water and environment as annually, a group of researches is selected to participate at the fellowship program organized by a specialized committee supervised by the international programs office at the foundation. He added that Dr. Al-Subaie\'s research papers published in international scientific journals, in addition to her participations in numerous international scientific conferences on behalf of Kuwait, reflect the extent of her experience in this domain. For her part, Dr. Al-Subaie said she will work with Dr. Edward Boyle\'s team that is specialized in trace metals and organic compounds where the two sides\' expertise will unite using highly efficient devices to monitor compounds in the water of Kuwait, especially the hydrocarbon contaminants.
