India on Monday successfully testfired its home-made, nuclear-capable Prithvi II missile from a test range in the eastern state of Odisha, sources said. \"The missile was testfired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, some 15 kms from the state\'s Balasore District, around 9.15 a.m. (local time). The testfiring of the missile, randomly chosen from the stock, was successful,\" the sources said. Developed by state-owned Defense Research and Development Organisation, Prithvi II is capable of carrying nuclear warheads of up to 1,000 kgs. The missile has a strike range of 350 kms and has already been inducted into the Indian Army.
