A major fire broke out Monday morning at a chemical storehouse in southern Ukraine, sending up heavy smoke over surrounding areas, authorities said. The blaze that covered some 200 square meters, started at around 10:37 a.m. local time (GMT 0837) at the facility which stores paint products and solvents in Zaporozhe city, the State Service for Emergencies said. Over 50 fire-fighters were able to extinguish the flames after an hour-long struggle and no causalities were reported, it said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
