Ethiopia and Turkey agreed to cooperate in the science and technology area to further strengthen ties, the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) reported on Thursday.
Science and technology ministers of the two countries signed the agreement focused on provision of training and support with the presence of Ethiopia's Prime Minister Haile Mariam Desalegn and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The bilateral relations between the two countries has been growing from time to time particularly in trade and investment, with 421 million USD trade volume in 2013 and over 3 billion USD Turkish investment, makes it the largest FDI source for Ethiopia.
Ethiopia's science and technology Minister Demitu Hambisa said the agreement will help to produce skilled labor in the sector. Universities in the two countries will play role for the implementation of the agreement.
After signing the deal, Ethiopian prime minister said they agreed to further deepen ties in trade, security, energy, infrastructure, construction and electricity among others.
