Egyptian President Adly Mansour has awarded the medal of arts and sciences of first grade to Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al-Mazrouei, Chairman of General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, on the occasion of the Prophet Mohammed's (Peace Be Upon Him) birthday. The recognition of Dr. Al-Mazrouei fell within the context of the longstanding ties between the UAE and Egypt and UAE's support for efforts aimed at enhancing stability, development and security and advancing political transition in Egypt in line with the roadmap for future. Dr. Al-Mazrouei expressed his extreme delight for being honoured by the Egyptian president, indicating that such honour reflects the depth and strength of bilateral ties. He added that the honour from Egypt, the seat of Al Azher, holds special significance to him. He expressed the hope that Cairo would overcome the current situation and usher into a better future, affirming that stability and strength of Egypt serve as a security valve to Arab and Islamic countries. In a statement to Middle East News Agency (MENA), the UAE official said he was pleased with a resolution taken by Egyptian Endowments Minister Dr. Mukhtar Juma to accept him as member in Egypt's Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. Dr. Al-Mazrouei stated that his talks with Dr. Juma covered ways of boosting coordination among Islamic countries to generate the most benefits and returns from endowments funds and how to benefit from Egypt's experience to revive the religious rhetoric and conduct Islamic studies on issues concerning the two countries and the Islamic World. He unveiled that the UAE would send a high-level delegation to the conference of Egypt's Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs next March.
